| Welcome To Our Home Page My name is Rick Davis and I am the unofficial webmaster of this site. Actually no one else wanted to do it. So I took on the task with very little arm twisting. I am also one of the newest pipers in the band. I hope to give you some insight on the band's history, the events and programs we are involved in and if they will let me,a brief profile on each member. I also hope to include in the future some pictures at various performances and gatherings. So please check back regularly for new updates. |

| Our Band History At a meeting of the Florida Saint Andrews Society in Feb. 1984, a group of members, including Pat Kenny, John Butt, Jack MacDonald, Harold McCormack and Roy McIlroy decided they would form an entertainment group. This group would perform at Burn's Suppers and other Scottish functions. Two more meetings were held and it was decided the the main emphasis should be in the forming of a pipe band. Pat Kenny, a self taught accomplished piper, would take the lead and try to find a Pipe Major. Pat managed to get Dick Hastings, an ex-Air Force Pipe Major, to take on the task. Classes were originally held at the Indian River Community College and within six months moved to Minton Auto Repair Showroom in Fort Pierce. Classes were then moved to their present day location, The All Saints Episcopal Church in Jensen Beach. This last move was made possible by Harold McCormack, a member of the church. By 1986 the band was ready to perform in parades and other functions. To show how frugle a Scot can be, Pat Kenny made his own kilt and taught other members how to make theirs. Six of those original kilts are still in use! Bill Marceau joined the band as Pipe Major from 1987 to 1991 and raised the standards of the band to new levels. Roy MCIlroy took over duties as Pipe Major in 1991, when the band had four pipers! With members coming and going for various reasons, Roy managed to keep the band active. Our present Pipe Major, Kevin Brown, assumed his position in 2001 as Roy wanted to step down and do what he likes best, teach new members how to play the pipes. |
